Welcome to the first weekly update for Skippers Lane. These will be brief summaries of the construction planned for Skippers Lane in the following week as part of the SH10 Waipapa Corridor Improvements project.
Road pavement works
Road pavement work along the western/shopfront side of Skippers Lane will be finished this week, with the exception of surfacing works.
Road surfacing will be completed in October/November, once the kerb and channel is in place on both sides of the lane.
Next week we will move around the corner in front of the Pioneer and will be there most of the week. We are working to ensure parking in front of the Pioneer is reinstated by opening time Tuesday (the Pioneer is closed Mondays). If any unexpected delays occur, we will clear parking space on the other side of Waipapa Loop Road.
Utility works
Utility providers will be working along Skippers Lane all week next week to pull underground cables or connect services to businesses.
Small areas will be dug up and fenced off along the lane, close to the footpath, which means some shopfront parking will be affected.
Pedestrian, truck and vehicle access will be maintained at all times, but some stop/go traffic management may be required, for example while the service holes are dug.
