We’re pleased to bring you the latest updates from across the Slade Health network, with this edition highlighting an important leadership announcement and several key moments shaping our year.
Russell Hill has been formally appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Pharmacy and Compounding, following his tenure as Acting CEO. In this role, he will lead both Slade Health and Slade Pharmacy. His appointment marks an important milestone in Slade’s 60-year legacy and reinforces our commitment to excellence in sterile compounding and pharmacy services.
Slade Health secures five-year extension with SA Health
We’re proud to continue our partnership as the sole supplier of compounded pharmaceuticals to South Australian public hospitals. This renewed agreement, awarded through public tender, reflects the trust built with over 30 public hospitals and reinforces our commitment to delivering best-in-class sterile compounding services across the state.
Celebrating 60 Years of Slade
This year marks 60 years of excellence in hospital pharmacy and compounding across Australia and New Zealand. Slade Health is proud to be part of Slade Pharmacy’s legacy, supporting over 200 hospitals with high-quality compounding services. Our growth has been shaped by innovation, strong partnerships and a shared commitment to patient care.
Avondale team brings STEM to life in New Zealand
As part of a local school’s Curiosity Leads to Discovery theme, our Avondale team introduced students to the science behind sterile compounding with hands-on cleanroom and gowning demonstrations. The visit gave students a rare look into real-world science and sparked plenty of questions, curiosity, and excitement.
A day in the life: Avondale Production Supervisor, Kim Siew Han
From leading production to rallying the team for daily stretches, Han brings energy, problem-solving, and heart to each day at our Avondale site. Thank you to our Production Technician, Penny for helping share Han’s story - a great snapshot of the people and purpose behind what we do.
Supporting Very Special Kids, one step at a time
We were proud to take part in the 2025 Very Special Kids 24-Hour Treadmill Challenge, raising over $24,000 to support children with life-limiting conditions. A huge thank you to our incredible team members across Slade Health and the wider Icon Group who kept the treadmill moving.
Delivering care and compassion in the Philippines
Our Quality Specialist, Sheena, recently joined a volunteer mission in Manila, supporting free health clinics in Caloocan and Pasig. Over two days, the team provided medical, dental, and optical care to more than 1,050 patients. The mission also extended to a local boys’ orphanage, where more than 60 children and staff received healthcare.
