NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK 2024 - JOIN THE CYCLE

It's back!

If you've seen these posts or posters, you'll already know that our annual textile event is back and better than ever.

This year we're offering an added bonus. Yes, those pesky e-waste items can be brought in for recycling as well. If it comes with a power cord or charger, it's e-waste.

If you can’t make it to the event, we still have you covered with these year-round drop-off locations.

There are loads of other events on as well. Check out Planet Ark's events listing for events like Junk Jewellery workshops, Trivia Nights and Repair and Reuse days.

And it's picnic, barbeque and events time! Read on for tips to help you party responsibly.

Keep reading for the best local info on gardening, solar energy and for the first time, Casey's EV Expo.

WASTE & CIRCULAR ECONOMY

BYO when you're on the go

Party responsibly this summer if you're heading out to Casey's many parklands.

With lots of end-of-year get-togethers, remember to pack a picnic set, carry bags and another bag for your rubbish. If you have a few more people, get in touch with the Lynbrook Community Centre to hire a reusable party kit. And remember - blow bubbles, not balloons!

Email Lynbrook Community Centre

Cash for cans

Speaking of picnics, don't dump your single-use drink containers. The Container Deposit Scheme is now a year old and there are plenty of locations in Casey.

Turn them into cash and help out a community centre at the same time. Check the map for where to take your containers.

KITCHEN GARDEN

Edible Natives - Native thyme (Prostanthera incisa)

Another native herb that can be used in place of the traditional thyme in many recipes. This robust plant will also add a splash of colour to your garden.
