Food and Drink industry invited to compete for £900k business sustainability challenge
Growing Kent & Medway are offering grants between £10,000 and £50,000 for short-term, high-impact, innovative projects that support sustainable production, products and packaging in the fresh produce, food and drink supply chain.
Applicants must be a business operating in the horticultural and plant-based food and drink industry, or propose a project which will positively impact these sectors.
Controlling aphids this season
Currently, we are hearing and seeing reports of extremely high aphid activity. In order to obtain the best possible control, there are several options available, depending on the crop, aphid species, and pest pressure present.
More commonly known as black or greenflies aphids are sap feeding, soft bodied pests that present a major challenge for growers. They are arguably one of the most significant pests due to their ability to destroy crops.
