Help raise money for the PCP Student Travel Fund!

The Alumni & Advancement Office is partnering with the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy for the Fall Giving Campaign to raise funds for the Student Travel Fund, Scholarship, and Financial Aid. As part of the campaign on Tuesday, November 28 (Giving Tuesday) a table will be in the STC Atrium to help spread the word about the importance of philanthropy and giving back, prizes and swag will be given away, thank you notes to donors will be written, and more! The shop will be opened until November 30th, orders will be shipped 3-5 weeks after the shop closes. A choice of pick up or direct delivery is available. Pick up will be located at the UCity campus mail room once the orders arrive. If you choose direct delivery, an additional fee for shipping is required. ELECTIVE/PROFESIONAL ELECTIVE! Toxicology of Substance Use Disorders (Applied Tox PHT 407/707)

This course considers topics related to organ-specific pathology and applications of clinical toxicology. Applied topics will mostly focus on substance use disorders-related toxicity, which is impacting lives worldwide. This course focuses on the toxicity of deliberately ingested, inhaled, injected materials that are used to alter the psychological state. The course will provide a working knowledge of the neurobiological and neurochemical basis of behavior and the mechanism by which drugs influence synaptic neurotransmission to alter behavior and function in Addiction. The course will provide a working knowledge of toxicology principles that impact specific disease states and therapy.

PCP Student Council + Appeal for a Meal

Appeal for a Meal is a Food Drive dedicated to providing Thanksgiving food (listed in the flyer) that will be given to underserved families within our community. PCP Student Council’s role is to fill the bags with the items on the list- this effort is shared between all of PCP faculty, students and staff! These bags are due between 9 AM on 11/20 and 11 AM on 11/21 in the ARC MPR.

Anyone can either donate food that is on the list or make a money donation. With that said, ANY amount will do! Instructions on how to make either donations are in the flyer!

GOAL: Create at least 5 bags which is roughly around $225. Please consider donating whatever you can :)

Did you know that American Indian and Alaska Native patients have a rate of contracting tuberculosis that is greater than 8 times that of non-Hispanic Caucasians? This is just one of many health disparities that we as healthcare providers can work to help reduce and eliminate through education and action! Check out the post to the left to learn more about the gaps in healthcare for these patients.
