Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for General Practitioners

Dear General Practitioner,

Outbreak declared over at Calvary Nazareth

Following advice from the Hunter New England Public Health Unit, we are very pleased to let you know that the outbreak at Calvary Nazareth has been declared over.

Restrictions have been lifted and residents can now move freely within the home. Calvary Nazareth is re-opening to a limited number of visitors from today, Monday, 24 January 2022.

To help limit the risk of infection, general visitation will be limited to one nominated visitor per resident, and they will be required to have a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on site before entering the home. Visitation exceptions will still be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided.

Our staff will continue to wear personal protective equipment, including N95 masks and eye protection, and closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank you for working with us to ensure residents have continued to receive the best medical care in this challenging environment.

Sincerely,

Bryan McLoughlin
