New Announcements 

Reminder! P2 REQUIRED Class Meetings! P2 and P3 students are reminded that required class meetings are scheduled and noted on the master PharmD class schedule. The P2 meeting is September 13th. Meetings are at 2 PM (PCP hour) in IPEX 307. Students who need to be excused should email Ms. Kiara Butler at kbutler@sju.edu explaining the conflict. Attendance will be taken.   Outside work will not be accepted as an excused absence. Students who have an unexcused absence for the class meeting will not be eligible for financial support from the dean's office for the academic year (student travel, state membership for P3's, etc). Students who arrive late will not be counted as present. PSHP Virtual Residency and Fellowship Showcase! Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists (PSHP) is excited to announce this year's VIRTUAL Residency and Fellowship Showcase. The Delaware Valley and Western Chapters are combining to host this two-evening event. It will be held on October 25th and 26th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Attendance is free. Register HERE!

PCP Student Council Meetings! Thank you to everyone who applied to join PCP Student Council this year! We can't wait to get everything started! All meetings will be held at 2 pm in PTC 140 and the schedule is as follows: Tuesday, September 20th, Tuesday, October 18th, and Tuesday, November 15th. All meetings are mandatory for student council members, but anyone is invited to attend with any questions or concerns! Deadline to sign up for a free state membership is extended till tomorrow at 9 AM! Thanks to the generous contributions of PCP alumni and friends, P3 pharmacy students are eligible for membership in one state pharmacy organization (PPA, NJPHA or PSSNY). National Patient Counseling Competition (NPCC)! Interested in further developing your pharmacy career? Think you have what it takes to counsel patients on a prescription? Want to compete for a free trip to APhA’s annual conference in 2023 to represent PCP? APhA-ASP will be holding its annual National Patient Counseling Competition through Zoom! Pharmacy students (P1-P4) can register to compete in the first round on either October 18 @ 6pm or October 20 @ 6pm to showcase their communication skills and compete for a spot in the final round in November. SJU-SSHP's first General Body Meeting! Are you curious and want to learn more about hospital/ clinical pharmacy or residency? Please join SSHP as we will be having our first General Body Meeting on Tuesday, September 13th at 5 PM in Alumni Classroom 117!! This GBM is open to ALL pharmacy students U1s-P4s!! During the meeting, we will be discussing our chapter's activities for the semester, how to become a member of SSHP and ASHP, new involvement opportunities, and upcoming conferences. This is also a great way to find leadership opportunities and network with upperclassmen and pharmacists! IPhO AstraZeneca Recruitment Event! Hello IPhO Members! We are excited to be hosting a recruitment event with some fellows from AstraZeneca! This is a great opportunity to network with fellows and learn about the fellowship application process for P1s, P2s, and P3s! We will be sending out a zoom link on the day of the event to those who fill this google form out. Main Line Health- Career Opportunities for Pharmacy Students! There are exciting opportunities for per diem, pharmacy technician roles with Main Line Health. They have openings in the following locations. Lankenau Medical Center Bryn Mawr Hospital Riddle Hospital Paoli Hospital The requirements for the role are typically every other weekend (varied shifts) as well as the ability to work during the weekday. St Francis Hospital in Wilmington DE is HIRING! St Francis Hospital in Wilmington DE is hiring Per Diem/Part-Time Pharmacy Technicians. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in aseptically preparing medications and I.V. therapies, and distributing medications to the patient care areas, performing nursing and pharmacy unit inspections, maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital or clinics. Inpatient Pharmacy Internship- HUP! The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is recruiting for our paid Inpatient Pharmacy Internship Program. Interns will be required to work every other weekend and two summer and winter holidays. Our hope is that the intern will stay with us for the duration of pharmacy school as the program incorporates additional training and experiences as the student progresses from the P1 to P4 years.
