Welcome to the Summer Term

The first day of summer term classes is today (Monday, May 5, 2025)! Whether you are catching up or getting ahead on your degree, Carleton has resources to support your success. Take advantage of the new term and let us help you along a path toward graduation.

 

Important Dates

Monday, May 5, 2025: Summer term begins.

Friday, May 9, 2025: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for early summer courses.

Friday, May 16, 2025: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for full summer courses.

Monday, May 19, 2025: Statutory holiday. University closed.

 

Celebrating Asian Heritage Month

During Asian Heritage Month this May, Carleton is reflecting on and celebrating the diverse contributions of Asian Canadians.

Nikita Nanos named Chancellor of Carleton University

Nikita Nanos will serve as Carleton’s 13th Chancellor, effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Nanos is a leading voice in public opinion research, with national influence and deep Carleton ties, making him the ideal ambassador for the university’s next chapter.   

Nanos will be officially installed as Chancellor during Carleton’s Convocation ceremony on Friday, June 20, 2025.

 

Tentative Agreement Reached Between Carleton and CUASA

Carleton University and the Carleton University Academic Staff Association (CUASA), which represents full-time faculty and professional librarians have reached a tentative collective agreement.

Further updates will be posted on the bargaining website.

The Bookstore is Renovating

Big changes are coming to the bookstore, which will now be called the Campus Store to reflect its expanded offerings. The store is open this summer in its usual location at 173 Nideyinàn with a smaller footprint as the store undergoes renovations. Textbooks are available for summer courses, but may be sold only in-person during the beginning of the term.

 

The Flock is Best Fan Support Group

The Flock is this year’s Best Fan Support Group winner in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Honour Awards! This recognition is awarded to a school's fan base that consistently demonstrated their support, allegiance and passion in various ways for varsity programs on and beyond campus. Thank you to all who cheer on Carleton athletes and support Ravens teams. Go Ravens go!

 

Getting Ready for Fall Registration

As we enter the summer term, it’s a good time to make sure you’re ready for registration in the fall. Please visit the Current Students website for some great tips to ensure you’re well-prepared. Some things to consider in advance of registration include: Changes of Program Elements, government funding applications, registration status and year level, account balance and class schedule. The Student Registration Assistance team will be available beginning Thursday, May 22, 2025, offering in-person, email and phone assistance.
