The Brent Cross Town 2023 Anniversary Fund The Brent Cross Town 2023 Anniversary Fund is now accepting applications of up to £5k. Non-profits in Cricklewood, Childs Hill, Golders Green and West Hendon will be given priority. HOWEVER applications close to this location will also be considered. The total pot is £50k. £40k will be awarded by the funder. The final £10k will then be split between some of the successful projects following a public vote. The Christmas Challenge Applications for the UK's biggest match funded campaign, The Christmas Challenge are now open. For seven days, the challenge offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to double their donations — and, in doing so, make an extraordinary difference to the world’s biggest challenges. The campaign will run around #GivingTuesday, from 28 Nov- 5 Dec. Last year it raised over £28.6m for 1021 charities,
and this year this could include yours! Applications are open now until Friday 7 July 2023. Charity eligibility criteria:
Be a UK-registered charity with a Charity Commission number or tax-exempt status and an annual income of at least £25,000 (as per last filed accounts). Charities which are registered on BigGive.org (free to register).
Free funding for your good cause Over £1.2million in free, unrestricted funding has just been paid to third-sector organisations via funding platform easyfundraising. Because easyfundraising is committed to helping communities access essential funding, they partner with over 7,500 online retailers that want to give back. It’s simple: when anyone shops online, a proportion of what they’ve spent is shared with your organisation for free. It’s a really simple and effective way for your organisation to fundraise for essentials, cover day-to-day running costs, or whatever

Reaching Communities England This National Lottery Community Fund programme offers a larger amount of funding (over £10,000) for organisations that work with their community, whether that is for people living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences. Funding size: £10,001 or more, for up to five years Application deadline: Ongoing
London Catalyst London Catalyst's project grants range between £1,000-£5,000. Priority is given to new initiatives that target people who are disadvantaged as a result of long-term health issues, disability, or poverty.
Deadline: September 2023 [rolling application until then]
Civil Society Roots Fund
This fund is aimed at supporting groups to be in a stronger place to respond to and serve the increasing and ever-changing needs of our communities. It is not for delivery of front-line activity. They are looking for organisations that want to develop new sectoral and/or cross sectoral partnerships, invest in organisational capacity building, research, training or enable space and time to think about what our communities need most. Funding of up to £30,000

Grants are available for charities in Greater London the relief of the poor, destitute and homeless who are disadvantaged by reasons of health, education or poverty; alleviation of the social effects of alcohol abuse/misuse; and the support of young people, youth projects and designated educational establishments.

FREE Upshot Barnet VCFSE With the support of Barnet Council we’re excited to offer eligible* members the opportunity to use Upshot for FREE for one year, then at a reduced cost of £200 in the second year, members will be offered a further year at a discounted rate before transferring to full Upshot membership in year 4. There is no obligation to commit to the full four years and you will receive free dedicated support from a new Upshot member of staff. We will be running online Upshot sessions every month. Zoom Rockman’s Jewish Hall of Fame When Zoom Rockman was at the Jewish Community Secondary School in Barnet, he was already seeing his cartoons being published in The Beano. His first (of many) cartoons for Private Eye was published when he was 16. Last year he graduated from Central St Martins & now, aged 22, has his first major contemporary art installation at the JW3 in North West London combining 2d cartoons and 3d kinetic sculptures of Jewish icons inc many with Barnet/North/North West London connections. Volunteers’ Week 2023: Celebrate and Inspire Barnet Together wish to thank the thousands of volunteers supporting charities and voluntary organisations in Barnet. Today, is the start of the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), which recognises the contribution volunteers make across the UK. The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important. Free mental health support toolkit for employers The Department for Work and Pensions has relaunched and updated their access to work mental health support resources for employers. The campaign’s been designed to help employers and employees make the most of cost-free support. The link provides details of how the service works, and how it can benefit businesses through downloadable
materials and details of mental health training courses. Barnet Council also offers a range of free resources, tools and tips about workforce health and wellbeing.

Join the new Burnt Oak Partnership Board Barnet Council are inviting members of the Burnt Oak community to work with the council and local stakeholders to help Burnt Oak thrive as a place for all to live, work and visit. The Burnt Oak Partnership Board is a community-led working group dedicated to ensuring that residents, businesses and community groups are actively engaged in helping to revitalise the town centre. Barnet celebrates LGBTQ+ communityBarnet will celebrate its LGBTQ+ community with the first-ever Pride in the Park event in Victoria Park, Finchley on Sunday 20 August. In the run-up
to the event, award-winning photographer Chris Jepson has been commissioned to create a collection of stories and portraits of people who live and work in the borough, exploring what it means to identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community today. Commissioned in partnership with Middlesex University and Barnet’s LGBTQ+ community group Inkluder CiC, ‘The IDENTITY Project – A Portrait of a Community’ is a digital exhibition that will celebrate and give visibility to LGBTQ+ people, promoting Barnet’s diverse and inclusive community. Could you be an emergency responder? Barnet Council needs volunteers to support its Emergency Rest Centres which may be opened in the event of any incident that may displace residents from their homes. This opportunity does not require regular commitment therefore it might be something you can share with your staff and volunteers. All emergency responder volunteers will receive free council and Red Cross training.
