Please join us for EOA’s latest webinar, providing an update on EOA’s research partnership with the UNSW Business School.

Zeb Holmes will be presenting an update on his PhD research, which focuses on employee ownership schemes. Zeb is a PhD candidate at the UNSW Business School, who is supervised by Professor Andrew Pendleton, an expert in the area and Director at EOA. Specifically, Zeb will run through an overview of the three studies which make up his PhD thesis, regarding:

  1. Employee ownership types and company decision-making;
  2. The effects of employee ownership on employee attitudes and behaviour; and
  3. The views and potential impacts of union and employer association stakeholders on employee ownership policy and design;

Zeb will provide an update on his findings on study 1, before a brief overview of the status and next steps in study 2 and 3. Zeb and Andrew will also be available to answer any questions about this research during the webinar.

About the speakers

Zeb Holmes is a PhD Candidate at the UNSW Business School (Management and Governance). He is the recipient of an EOA grant to conduct this research, and works closely with several of its directors. Zeb is also an experienced employment lawyer, currently a senior associate at Harmers Workplace Lawyers, also having worked in-house and for the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Andrew Pendleton is a Professor of Employee Ownership and Reward at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney.  Prior to coming to Australia in 2019, he was a professor at Durham, York, and Manchester Metropolitan Universities.  He has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Bath, UK.
