The Proserpine Young Farmers (PYF) group was recently funded for a study tour to the Burdekin to meet with other growers and increase understanding of irrigation systems and integration of these systems to improve productivity and environmental outcomes.

Going the Distance helping local growers to identify key constraints

Funded by the Queensland Governments Queensland Reef Water Quality Program, Famacist’s Going the Distance project has been supporting growers to identify and address soil constraints.

A recent case study has been completed highlighting one farm’s involvement and outlines some of the learnings.

AutoWeed: Cutting costs and chemicals with intelligent weed detection technology

MCPA Permit update

Staying informed and updated about chemical label changes is important and required to ensure products are being used correctly.

Recently, the permit for MCPA use in Sugarcane to spray over the top has been updated. Buffers have been added.

Harvest mate

Harvest Mate is a free web-based portal and app designed to help cane growers and harvesting contractors capture additional cane and sugar yield from the paddock 

Using industry data and economic analysis, Harvest Mate is a practical framework to optimise harvest settings to increase yield and revenue.
