"Sign Me Up" This Spring Have you noticed? Life doesn’t always happen this dreadfully slow (the waning pandemic) or this dangerously fast (the Russia-Ukraine war)—but life keeps happening. And so to celebrate the good news, upside of life this springtime comes a new worship series—“Sign Me Up!”—a fresh invitation to find new life in volunteer service. The pandemic effectively pinned down the church and the nation, keeping many of us from social involvement and volunteer engagement. But now with a diminishing health threat, new opportunities for renewed service come cheerfully knocking at our door. “Sign Me Up!” explores a host of ways you and I can re-immerse ourselves (as disciples of Jesus) in our post-pandemic world of burgeoning needs and re-emerge from the shadows of the pandemic into the sunnier spring Sabbaths ahead. Welcome to you, welcome to new life, welcome to Pioneer! March 26

Springtime Celebration of the Cross This Sabbath, March 26, we will gather both services to celebrate the gift of our Savior in springtime fashion. With the pandemic on the wane, our worship leaders are anticipating this will be the “last” (never say never) commemoration of the cross with at-home foot
washing and prepackaged emblems of bread and wine. But no matter—it will be a high day in worship for us all. If you wish to celebrate communion at home, please stop by the church office tomorrow or Friday to pick up your packaged emblems. For on-site worship, you may receive the emblems as you arrive Sabbath morning. Once again we're inviting families and friends to experience Jesus' example in John 13 by washing each other's feet Friday evening where you live. Why not make this foot washing a part of your Friday evening worship as we gather across this community to welcome the Lord of the Sabbath into our homes at sundown? Then Sabbath morning through music, prayer, the reading, and reflections from the Word (“Good-bye Pandemic, Hello Refugees—Sign Me Up!”), along with the graphic symbols of Christ’s broken body and spilled blood for us, let's throw wide our hearts to the Savior we love to worship. “Do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19).
Pioneer to Resume Fellowship Dinner Bye, bye Covid! Welcome Pioneer Sabbath Fellowship Dinner for Members and
Visitors!
Save the date: Pioneer will resume Fellowship Dinner for members and visitors on April 23, 2022. Here’s the scoop!
For each Fellowship Dinner, one group of about 135 members will be selected
from the congregation, so that over the period of a year, every member will
have the opportunity for community and fellowship while welcoming and
offering friendship to visitors as well.
The dinners will be traditional potluck style. Typically, the team coordinating the Fellowship Dinner will provide the main course, and invited members will be asked to bring side dishes such as vegetables, salads, and desserts.
If your last name is somewhere between Jordan and Kutzner, please be on the lookout for an email or text message to join the Fellowship Dinner on April 23. You will have one week to RSVP and indicate the number of persons attending from your family and the dish(es) you will bring.
S’More!
If you are not included in the alphabetical list for a particular Sabbath but would like to attend, welcome! That’s no problem! Just bring a dish to share and join the fellowship. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Village of Berrien Springs Spring Spruce-Up April 3 On Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM the Village of Berrien Springs is organizing a Spring Spruce-Up to help members of our community
clean up their yards. Let’s get out and be Love on the Move for some of our neighbors who aren’t quite able to keep up with yard work. If you’d like to join Pioneer’s Spruce-Up team of volunteers, register here or text SPRUCE at 269.281.2345.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace Building Project This spring, Pioneer Grow Groups will be partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build and deliver beds for local children in need.
Right now we’re looking for volunteers who are interested in building and/or delivering beds on April 10, 2022. Our plan is to build beds in the morning, from 9 a.m.-noon, and deliver them in the afternoon from 1-4 p.m., so we’ll need some help!
We’re also looking for donors, so we can purchase the building materials and bedding we’ll need. Each complete bed costs $250, and our goal is to provide 30 beds to kids in our community. We’re more than two-thirds of the way to our goal so far, but time is getting short, so please prayerfully support in any way you can.
For more information, to donate, or to volunteer text BEDS to 269-281-2345 or pmchurch.org/beds
Join us as we practice being Love on the Move in our community!
