Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident Family Member,

Latest update: Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community

Following our last update to residents and families, I am writing to advise that through the current testing regime, an additional two (2) residents at Calvary Cessnock have tested positive for COVID-19.

All other tested resident results that have been returned to us so far are negative, however we are still waiting on a small number to be returned.

As the test results come to hand, we will continue to liaise closely with the Hunter New England Public Health Unit regarding the next steps, testing regime and when it might be safe to lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement or re-open the home.

In the meantime, the Nulkaba households at Calvary Cessnock remain closed for general visitation except for end of life and compassionate visits. Please talk with the home manager to make specific arrangements.

Families of the residents who tested positive have been contacted separately, and we will continue to provide updates to these families as information becomes available.

We want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to continue to look after the health and wellbeing of all our residents while keeping them safe during this difficult time.

You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends

We anticipate our next update to residents and families will be early next week, unless there are any changes that need to be communicated before then.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

Bryan McLoughlinRegional CEO – NSW & QLD
