ANZA SoccerQuick update on current situationDear ANZA Soccer Parents, We have been encouraged to see the recent news from the government that they will be moving toward larger groups for community sports for fully vaccinated players starting later on 25 February. As we have received several enquiries about this, we are writing to let you know that at this time, we do not have clear information about when and how ANZA Soccer will be able to move to the new format(s). The Cage is waiting for an advisory from SportSG regarding this and providing details on how the new rules will work. Additionally, private venues must apply for “approved private venue” status, which The Cage is doing now. The government must decide which venues will receive this status before any private facility can proceed with planning for larger groups. Finally, we simply don’t know at this point how the government will treat the age groups who are still too young to receive the vaccines or who have not yet had time to become fully vaccinated. We do note that the government is moving toward the vaccine-differentiated approach for vaccine-eligible groups, so at some point, we expect even our younger players will have different opportunities based on their vaccine status. For the time being, ANZA Soccer will continue under our current protocols, while hoping to move toward more “normal” play situations in the near future. Should a player or parent coach test positive for Covid-19, please note that ANZA Soccer follows the current government guidelines on when it is permitted for the individual to resume normal life (i.e., work, school, and activities). We appreciate your continued patience and support as we wait for more developments and clarity. Like most of our families, no doubt, we are hoping for larger groups and more reasonable restrictions in youth sports for all ages! Sincerely, Recent news articles: Reminders and Helpful Information:
