"Our Land is sacred and we share our country with open waters, The yellow assorted circles/oval like shapes are outside surrounding countries and Islands.

The linking crosshatch pattern and foot prints connecting to one another are the great migration travel paths. The two hand prints represent our Indigenous relationship we share together (ATSI) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Australian. The assorted coloured dots and crosshatch with lines interprets different clans/tribes and homelands/communities of our First Nation People.

Lastly the dragon fly’s bring new life to our season this tells us that the wet season has moved on and the dry season feels are coming fast."

William E Hewitt (Jnr) is a proud descendant of Wadjigan, Karrajarri, Bard, Yawuru clans/tribes. Local born and raised on Larrakia Country.

City of Palmerston are offering two FREE workshops. Creative Business 101 and Introduction to Entrepreneurship. 

Creative Business 101

• Date: Part 1 4 October 2022, 1:00pm - 5:00pm  Part 2 5 October 2022, 1:00pm - 5:00pm
• Location: Durack Community Arts Centre
• Admission: FREE

Join Britt Guy from Accomplice to learn all about Creative Business!

Creative Business 101 will cover:

• Who are you as an artist: Creating your artist bio, website, social media and the elevator pitch
• Money Story - From getting your ABN, to recording your invoices and knowing how to price your work
• Grants and tenders 101 - Everything from applying, through to acquittals including contracts and insurance
• Community connect - Meet other artists and potential future clients and test out your newly honed skills

Introduction to Entrepreneurship

• Date: 26 November 2022, 11:30am - 1:30pm
• Location: Palmerston Recreation Centre
• Admission: FREE

Workforce Australia has partnered with City of Palmerston to deliver a free Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshop.

The two hour interactive workshop is designed to explore the idea of entrepreneurship or starting a business in the Palmerston city.

From looking for gaps in the market, to exploring and validating your big ideas, this fun process unlocks your inner entrepreneur and gives you the next steps toward how to make your business idea a reality.

Hosted by NT Entrepreneurship Facilitator, Dante St James, you will learn how to:

1. Find an idea worth exploring
2. Validate that idea with research
3. Test your idea before launch
4. Take your idea to commercial reality

Participants will use tools like Business Model Canvas and 3C Model to plot out your idea, your potential customers and even the way you may consider marketing to them.
