Lenten Theme: For Everyone Born, a Place at the Table
The song we are using this Lent to represent our theme of Christ’s radical welcome is “For Everyone Born, a Place at the Table.” The hymn was written by Shirley Erena Murray with music composed by Brian Mann. Murray is a native New Zealander, and her compositions have a appeared in more than 100 compositions worldwide. Her hymns and carols address a wide spectrum of themes ranging from the seasons of the church year to human rights, care of creation, and above all, peace. She was also the author of our Christmas Cantata last year. The hymn “For Everyone Born” seeks to reflect our basic humanity and our need for shelter, safety, food, and joy as it relates to the Gospel. It seeks to provide an all-encompassing view of humanity in relation so God—and to celebrate God’s welcome and inclusivity of us all to God’s table.

Mask Policy 3.2.22
As you know, the state of Illinois and the CDC have updated masking guidelines, which is a hopeful sign for us all. At this time, in consultation with Pastor Kyle and Council, we request that masking remain in effect for Sunday services and Sunday School participants (children and teachers). As a church, we want to lean toward a position of protecting our neighbor and providing a comfortable environment for all as guidelines transition.
We continue to ask that people remained masked through the end of March. At that time, assuming that DuPage County remains in the low transmission rate and local policy remains the same, we will reevaluate.
For committee meetings and other group gatherings outside of Sunday services, we will leave it to the group to decide how they are most comfortable.
Thank you for your faithful support and prayers as we continue to welcome all and keep each other safe.
