We enjoy letting you know about the latest news from our teams, as well as making you aware of some of the more important information and our upcoming campaigns and awareness dates. This month, we're celebrating excellent within the Trust as our teams are shortlisted for three prestigious awards -two Student Nursing Times Awards and one HSJ Digital Award. The nominations for the Student Nursing Times Awards were sent by Sam Kitchen, Trainee Specialist Nurse, who was a final year Learning Disability Nursing student from the University of Hull on placement at our Trust from June to November 2022. The Student Nursing Times Awards will reveal the award winners at their glittering annual ceremony, celebrating the best of the next generation of nurses and their educators on 28 April. Our Children and Young People’s Neurodevelopment Service are among some outstanding entries in the Student Placement of the Year: Community and Practice Supervisor of the Year categories. The shortlisting for the HSJ Digital Award is for our East Riding Partnership Addictions Service in the Digital Clinical Safety category, which is described as an award which ‘will go to an organisation, team or project that has gone above and beyond to both ensure the technologies used in health and care are safe, and then using them to further improve patient safety. These awards shortlists further our Trust's already strong reputation for excellence in our field, and are recognition of the outstanding, innovative work of our dedicated staff. Thank you, On 18 April 2023, the contacts for all GPs, patients, carers, social services, acute trusts and all other Community Service users in Whitby, Pocklington and Scarborough and Ryedale will merge into a Single Point of Contact for the Trust’s Community Services. This change will provide a SPOC for all neighbourhood care teams.
Trust Chief Executive named in HSJ Top 50We are proud to announce that Michele Moran, Chief Executive of our Trust, has been named in the Top 50 Chief Executives by the Health Service Journal (HSJ). The HSJ’s Top 50 list recognises England’s top leaders of Trusts and is a sign of good performance in the NHS. This is the ninth year that the organisation has published such a list and includes a longlist of over 200 Trusts. Op COURAGE UpdateOn 1 April 2023, Specialist Veterans Mental Health services were integrated. Veterans who struggle to engage with or access mainstream mental health services will benefit from a streamlined Op COURAGE service, with a single point of contact for their mental health needs and strong partnerships with military charities.
International NursingThomas Tinashe is a Trainee Practice Nurse in one of our GP Practices. Arriving from Zimbabwe in 2021 to complete his international nursing training with us, we are proud of Thomas’ achievements in the last couple of years. Thomas tells us that he is very much enjoying his new role as a Trainee Practice Nurse in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and that he has much bigger ambitions for his career.
We've been shortlisted for a HSJ Digital Award!Our East Riding Partnership Addictions Service entered the awards with their fantastic ‘Implementing an Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) within a Partnership Provided Community Addictions Service’ project, which improved patient outcomes for those who use our services, and is understood as one of the first of its kind in the area. GP Change of Provider UpdateAs part of a review of its primary care services across Hull, as of 1st April 2023 the Trust no longer provides services at Northpoint Medical Practice and Princes Medical Centre. Student Nursing Times AwardsOur Children and Young People’s Neurodevelopment service has been shortlisted for two Student Nursing Times Awards!
