Taranaki state highway maintenance programme

19 September 2025

Kia ora and welcome

Welcome to the Taranaki state highway maintenance roadworks update.

This newsletter covers roadworks on the state highway network across the Taranaki region.

With our summer maintenance programme set to begin, we’ll share weekly updates with you to let you know what work is happening on our state highways, where it’s happening and when, to help you plan your journey.

Over the coming months essential maintenance work including road rebuilding and resurfacing will be carried out across the country. To be effective and durable, this work must be done during the warmer, drier months. It can't be done during winter when the weather is wet and cold.

Whenever you come to a worksite, remember that our road workers are doing their best to complete their work and keep you moving.

Please be respectful and follow their advice and instructions.

We know roadworks can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience while we carried out these improvements.

Stay updated on road conditions before you travel at journeys.nzta.govt.nz.
