The latest from the team at InCommon No images? Click here Kia ora Here at InCommon, we've been working hard encouraging people to reach out across cultures and faiths to make Canterbury a place where everyone feels they belong. We strive to highlight how similar we are to people who, at first, we may not think we share much in common. Because no matter our background or upbringing, often our differences are only skin deep. In this issue we outline what we've been up to, share some tools to help get the kōrero going, and provide you with some super easy ways to support the InCommon kaupapa. Arohanui, TIPS FOR CONNECTINGKeen for ideas on connecting with new people? Check out these tips from Kiwis on how to break the ice with someone you’d like to get to know better! Got some conversation starters of your own? We’d love to hear them! REACH OUT ON MOTHER'S DAYWe all have or had mum’s and other motherly figures in our lives – sharing a kind word and connecting with those who could benefit from a pick me up this Sunday could make a big difference. Here’s to all our mothers, solo mums, step-mums, foster-mums, dad-mums, friend-mums, all the motherly figures and the soon-to-be mums. Plus there’s Papatūānuku our Earth mother, fur-baby mums and plant mums! Lots of aroha to you all. HELP US SPREAD THE WORDWe'd love your help to encourage others towards new friendships. To make it easy to share our message you can also download posters, email signatures and social media tiles from our website. We reckon the posters would look great printed out at your workplace! You can share us on social too!Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for awesome bits of encouragement, competitions and events. If you are sharing on social media, it would mean a lot if you used the official hashtag #incommonnz. SEEN US AROUND?It's been our absolute pleasure sharing this mahi across Ōtautahi. Did you see us?
THANK YOU!On behalf of the team at InCommon, thank you so much for being on this journey with us. Your support means the world. Mā te wā |
