Summer Professional Elective Opportunities! University of Florida, College of Pharmacy, is offering an online Veterinary Pharmacy course during the summer. Click HERE for more information. If you are interested in either of these courses, please contact Academic Specialist Steven Domignuez at sdominguez@sju.edu for instructions on how to gain transfer credit for these courses. Two electives for PharmD students offered by the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy! Asynchronous Online Electives Available Summer 2023 (June 12-August 2, 2023). The University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice is pleased to offer two Pharmacy Practice electives, “Introduction to Specialty Pharmacy” and “Spanish for Pharmacists”, available to PharmD students in summer 2023. Each course is a 2-credit hour asynchronous online elective that will be offered during an 8-week session from June 12-August 2, 2023.  The cost of each course is $1040. Please contact Steven Dominguez, sdominguez@sju.edu prior to enrolling in either course. ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge! We are looking for students who would like to represent Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Clinical Pharmacy Challenge. This competition starts with online rounds and the semifinals and finals are held live during the ACCP Annual Meeting in Dallas in November. If we get to the live rounds, ACCP pays the registration for students and the school can kick in an extra $2000 (per team of 3) to defray travel expenses. In order to select the team, we will hold a short virtual exam on an evening in May, and select the top 4 scores. If you are interested in participating, please complete the interest form by 4/25. Volunteers Needed: HawkHUB End of the Year Drive! HawkHUB is looking for volunteers for our End-of-the-Year Drive, which will take place from May 5-13. If you have some time on any of those dates, willing to volunteer, and able to transport donations from one of the residence halls (LLC and Osol) to Alumni Hall 108, fill out the following Google form and we'll be in contact to schedule an information session. ACA & AMCP presents our annual RESUME WORKSHOP! Need some tips on how to brush up your resume/CV in order to land YOUR next internship or job interview? Come join us in our resume building workshop hosted by Professor Viggiano. This event is taking place on MONDAY APRIL 17th, 2023 @6pm on ZOOM. You can scan the QR code located on our flyer to JOIN. Pharmacy Museum Interns - Summer and/or fall 2023! Dr. Melissa Chakars, Professor and Chair of History at SJU is interns for the summer and/or fall of 2023 to work with researching and organizing the pharmacy collection in artifacts in the Marvin Samson Center for the History of Pharmacy (Griffith Hall). Students will enroll in the POL 491 Philadelphia Area Internship course and will need to complete 130 hours of work for the 3 credit class. Students could do this over the summer and get the credits in the fall or they could do all the work in the fall. Interested students should contact Dr. Chakars at mchakars@sju.edu. SCCP E-Board Elections! Are you interested in clinical pharmacy? Academia? Research? Student Society of Clinical Pharmacy is opening up applications for executive board positions. You're invited to the Black Excellence Gala! There's an opportunity for you to attend the Black Excellence Gala which is hosted by Philly Student Doctors. This is an organization that was started by black dental students at Temple and black medical students at Drexel. The Black Excellence Gala will take place in Center City on Saturday, May 6th. It’s open to all PCP students and allies who are age 21 and older. Intercept Pharmaceuticals - Medical Research Internship (May 22, 2023- August 25, 2023)! Paid Summer internship where students will learn about the roles of medical affairs, safety/pharmacovigilance, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), real world evidence (RWE), epidemiology, and investigator initiated research (IIR) in the pharmaceutical industry. Walgreens Has Scholarships! Any intern who is working with Walgreens is eligible for $5000 scholarship per year and $10,000 their final year (potential total of $25,000). The scholarship money is not required to be paid back provided the student pharmacist works for Walgreens as a pharmacist for the number of years they accept the Scholarship. See attached brochure.
