Principal's Message

Dear Families,

The end of the year is finally here and it’s time to say thank you for everyone’s support over the past year. Last night was a beautiful night for our school community to come together to enjoy the concert.  Tonight we will hold the Graduation Dinner in the Mercy Centre, where we will formally acknowledge our Year 6 students. Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6.00pm start, and parents must check in and show proof of vaccination.  Please enter via the front doors.

Thank you to the students for showing great resilience during the many lockdowns and the ease at which they undertook remote learning, time and time again. We wish the graduating class of 2021 and students who are leaving our school community, all the very best in their future educational journeys. Please remember that you will always be part of the St John’s family.

Thank you to all families for your constant support, especially during the lockdowns. We are blessed to have so many  families in our community  who work so positively with the school.

Thank you to all staff members. We cannot open the doors each morning and provide quality education without the hard work and dedication of our Teachers, Learning Support Officers, Administration, Cleaning and Maintenance staff.

Thank you also to the members of the Euroa community who look out for our school and students, this includes Mark Stevens who does an outstanding job of ensuring the safety of our students as they cross Anderson St each morning and afternoon, Phil Crowe who volunteers his time to mow our oval most weekends, Brendan Allen for sponsoring our Enrolment campaign each year and many other community members who support our school (some of which are anonymous).

Uniform Shop -  Sally will be opening the uniform shop on Friday 28th January from 10.00am to 2.00pm for uniform order collection.  (COVID regulations apply) enter through car park gates.

Return to School - The School Year will begin on Monday 31st January 2022.

I hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday break with your loved ones.

Regards

Libby Hamilton

Week 11 Prayer

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:5

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness — on them light has shone. For a child has been born for us, a son given to us ...
and he is named Wonderful Counsellor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:2,6

 A PRAYER

Lord, on this wonderful day we pause to remember the needy people of the world, whom Jesus came to save:  May the light of his star touch every dark place.

As we meet in fellowship and goodwill, we pray for the end of war and terrorism in your torn world.  As we eat and share the gifts of the earth, we pray for the hungry, homeless and those who are ill. Bring them your compassion and justice, Lord.

As we enjoy being relaxed and happy today, we remember the sick,
the lonely, the frightened, the anxious and the sorrowing: Bring them your comfort and peace, Lord.

As we go our separate ways after our celebrations, we remember those friends and loved ones who are not with us this Christmas. Give them assurance of your presence, Lord.

O Word made flesh, give us the will and capacity
to embody our prayers in compassionate and courageous deed: Fill us with the joy of service.
Amen.
