"Answer the Phone"

PASTOR'S BLOG

It was to be a simple day-trip hike in the beautiful, autumn-colored Colorado mountains last month. What’s not to like about that “Rocky Mountain high” of deep blue skies towering over rugged grey rock terrain amidst the you-can-smell-them rich conifer greens? Ahead is Mount Elbert’s peak and the South Trailhead that climbs toward it. What a day for a hike!

Helping the Starlins

We at Pioneer have been celebrating with Don and Trudy Starlin over his recent successful double-lung transplant. He had days to live when the donor's lungs became available. And the good news is he is recovering very well, having been moved from his transplant hospital to a nearby rehabilitation hospital. Family and friends of the Starlins have started a GoFundMe account to raise monies to offset the immense costs of this transplant operation. While Pioneer cannot publish every worthy GoFundMe project, we can rally to the needs of this hometown couple who have faithfully served this congregation and are facing monumental financial challenges.

Offering for November 13, 2021

World Budget

Over ninety years ago, in 1929, an Adventist preacher started a radio ministry called The Voice of Prophecy. His name was H. M. S. Richards. Back then radio was “live” rather than recorded. This meant Pastor Richards would sit in front of a microphone at a designated broadcast time each week. During World War II, the Voice of Prophecy became the first religious coast-to-coast broadcast across North America on the Mutual Broadcasting Network.
