Members of Victor Harbor Lutheran Church, South Australia, and representatives of nearby Encounter Lutheran College and the area's Aboriginal community gathered on Sunday to mark a special anniversary – 180 years since Encounter Bay's first mission school opened, a move that would help keep the local First Nations language alive until today. The new Child Safety Standards online portal is now live and can be accessed from the Child Safety Standards webpage. Updated tools and guide documents are also available on the website to assist congregations with the process. It's a handy overview of some new services and resources for congregations provided by the Churchwide Office team. We've been asked if the report can be made available to the broader church. Sure! Everyone can read it on the Congregation Leaders page or download it to print out. We also have some leftover copies, which we'll post to your congregation chair upon request (maximum of five copies). Email us. Many congregations hold AGMs around this time of year and may elect new council leaders. If your church has new office-bearers – or if they've stayed the same – please ensure the details are up-to-date in LAMP2.
