Thank you for coming to our OTTWA Open Day! The weather was beautiful, and we were thrilled to see so many of you come through the gate to learn more about Off the Track WA and our initiatives. We enjoyed showing everyone around the Estate and introducing you all to the Retraining Program horses. George (Technical Limit) loved showing off his tricks, and we were so proud of Ciscojoe and Caio Bloomy for presenting in front of a crowd. Our graduates, Amongst the Cloud, Tis Only a Name and Happy Dayz, alongside MyBoyPaul from Eq Cetera Inc. loved the attention from everyone and happily accepted their important role for the day. Many carrots were devoured, and many pats were received. The mechanical racehorse received a good workout, with almost everyone giving it a go. This is a great tool utilized by the Racing WA Careers team to train apprentice jockeys and allow the public an insight into the life of a jockey. Thank you to our Herd Hero friends, Community Partners, and special guests such as Michael Dagostino from Oakford Equestrian Centre and Candie from Babies & Bratz Groundwork/Liberty Specialists, for spending the day with us and helping educate the crowd about retraining and working with retired racehorses. We have been so thrilled to hear the positive feedback from everyone and look forward to taking onboard suggestions for next time! If you attended our Open Day, we'd love some feedback for future events:
