The early years opportunity

‘Be bold’ was the call to action echoed by leaders at the Australian Early Years Summit held in February this year. Hearing Australian leaders encourage us to think and act big for children and families feels like a critical moment for Australia.

We have an opportunity to ensure the Early Years Strategy is not just rhetoric but a roadmap and springboard for real and meaningful change for children and their families, particularly for those experiencing adversity. An opportunity for us to think and act boldly to address the complex social issues and inequities that hold children back.  An opportunity we cannot afford to waste. Making the most of the early years means investing early and laying essential foundations to ensure every child thrives.

You can access the Summit summary paper online, and have your say on the Early Years Strategy Discussion paper—public submissions are open until 30 April 2023.

In our first eNewsletter of 2023, we share a range of innovative initiatives and evidence-based resources from across our Centre to inspire bold thinking and evidence-based action for equitable outcomes.

Director, CCCH
