FRESH EVENT BRINGS GOLF TO NEW PARTICIPANTSFollowing the success of the inaugural FRESH event in 2023, Canterbury Golf has recently supported the delivery of a FRESH Golf event led by Youth and Culture Development (YCD) and New Zealand Māori Golf. This event aims to provide golf access for those who typically wouldn’t be able to access it through the FRESH event format, which YCD has developed over several years alongside CCC and Sport Canterbury. At the 2023 event we had over 150 rangatahi and tamariki, predominantly of Māori and Pasifika background attending, that figure was eclipsed at the recent event on April 24 with the FREE event "selling out in hours" and 175 rangatahi and tamariki turning up to give golf a go. We have two further FRESH events planned during the term holidays later in the year.
