Introducing our Green Warriors
Classroom of Hope and Gugah Nurani Indonesia have teamed up to launch the School Green Warriors program, empowering students from Rempek 1 and Darul Mustaffa Primary Schools to lead environmental change. 20 student ambassadors recently participated in an intensive four-day training on sustainability, waste management, and recycling, where they learned to assess waste management in their schools, homes, and communities. They were taught to identify different types of waste, how to separate organic
and non-organic materials, and the dangers of improper waste disposal, like dumping trash into rivers. Armed with these tools, these young leaders are now ready to inspire their peers and communities to take action and protect the planet.

The Everyday Hero
I learned how to reduce plastic waste, like using a water bottle or reusing things. I feel happy to be a Green Warrior. It feels like being a hero!"
The Learner
"Now I understand more about how to handle trash. My school, GNI, and COH trusted me to be an example for others and guide my friends to sort their trash properly. I also learned that plastic trash can be turned into money."
The Role Model
"I feel happy to be invited to this training because I learn a lot about different types of trash. My teacher often asks me to give advice to my friends and be a good example for them."
Our Sustainable Schools program, which trains our Green Warriors, along with our other community enrichment initiatives, such as English education, anti-bullying efforts, and preventing early marriage and unwanted pregnancy, are all made possible by the incredible support of donors like you!
