Kia ora and welcome

Welcome to the Northland state highway maintenance weekly roadworks update.

This newsletter covers maintenance and renewal roadworks across all the state highways from Topuni all the way to Te Reinga Wairua (Cape Reinga).

April brought heavy rain across the region, and our contractors were out responding to slips, fallen trees, surface flooding and other impacts, while also keeping major road rebuild projects moving where possible.

A huge shout out and thank you to the crews on the ground working through these challenging conditions. Thanks also to everyone for your patience and for travelling with care through these weather events.

We’re now in the final stretch of the 2024-25 season and are looking forward to completing this season’s delivery.

Please continue to drive with care, follow signage and any instructions you receive, and treat our roadworkers with kindness and respect as they work to keep the state highway network open and safe.
