Green light for Tamahere safety improvements
Pedestrians and cyclists now have a safer journey around and beneath the Tamahere interchange for the Waikato Expressway.
A signalised pedestrian crossing now in place on the northbound on-ramp to the expressway, is one of the safety improvements now in place at the interchange and along State Highway 21.
Other safety improvements completed at the interchange include:

raised pedestrian crossing on the southbound off-ramp and Airport Road

a two metre wide footpath along Airport Road from Regal to Devine Road

lighting improvements.
Providing accessible transport options gives everyone more freedom to move around safely and easily, without needing to rely on cars.
