This initiative has reconnected Corpus with so many fantastic alumnae doing incredible work across so many fields, as some of the profiles shared on our website highlight. NEWSDR ANDREW SANGER WINS PRESTIGIOUS TEACHING AWARDCorpus Fellow Dr Andrew Sanger has been awarded a University of Cambridge Pilkington Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Andrew, who is an Associate Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law, was previously shortlisted for the Oxford University Press 'Law Teacher of the Year 2023' and was awarded a Student-Led Teaching Award for Small-Group Teaching (Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences) in 2022. The Pilkington Prize is a further testament to his gifts as an educator. STUDENT SUCCESSESCorpus students have taken home some well-deserved prizes for their scholarship and skill. First-year law students Libby Evans and Jacob Simmons have taken first and second place respectively at the Cambridge University Law Society (CULS) Fledgling Mooting Competition, judged at the Supreme Court by Justice Lady Rose of Colmworth. On the History front, recent graduates Joshua Franklin and Yifei Zheng (both m.2020) were awarded prizes for the quality of their undergraduate dissertations. Congratulations to all four! Libby Evans and Jacob Simmons at the Supreme Court in London. CORPUS CHALLENGE 2024This year's Corpus Challenge took on a new format, as the traditional clash with Corpus Christi College Oxford was cancelled. Instead, our students organised a friendly matchup of MCR vs JCR students, which took place at Leckhampton. A highlight was the Fellows & Staff vs Students Football Match, which saw some impressive goal-keeping from Chaplain Matt Bullimore. Read on for a full roundup of the day from MCR Social Secretary and Ethnic Minorities Officer Freddie Sehgal. MARLOWE DINNERStudents came together on 1 March to celebrate reaching the mid-point of their undergraduate study with a celebratory ‘Halfway Hall’ dinner kindly funded by Jamie Hardigg (m.1980, History). As per College tradition, students brought along a special item that represents their feelings about their time at Corpus so far – these included a coffee pot, a Rubik’s cube and even a bronze stag! LENT BUMPS W1 SUCCESSM1 put in a gallant effort on the final day of racing, digging deep to chase down Churchill, only to be caught by Wolfson with 100m to go. W1 had a more chaotic race, with Magdalene pulling over believing they had been bumped by Darwin, but without an umpire call Darwin rode on. A confused but very determined Corpus boat sailed past Magdalene at full steam, resulting in a hard bump on Darwin and some well-earned greenery. Well done to both teams!
