Some very big machinery has been arriving at the Huntly site as the contractors gear up for their second season of earthworks.
In their first season, between Ocotber and May, the Fulton Hogan-HEB Joint Venture moved about 600,000m3 but the target this season is 2 million m3.
At peak this summer there will be more than 150 machines along the 15.2km site, including a 180-tonne excavator which can handle 25 tonnes in its giant bucket. That's it pictured here dwarfing stakeholder manager Trish Viall.
The focus over winter has been bridges – with good progress made on five of the nine bridges.
