Simeon Street looking towards Collins Street Upcoming changes on Simeon Street and Collins Street and site preparationAs part of the ongoing Brougham Street Upgrade, we need to make some changes so we can build the new pedestrian and cycle bridge over SH76. To create space for the bridge and cul-de-sacs, we now need to permanently close vehicle access from Simeon Street and Collins Street onto Brougham Street. We’ll also be removing some trees and shrubs in the area to safely carry out construction. We understand these changes may affect how you move around the neighbourhood and how the area looks in the short term. These works are part of a long-term plan to create a safer, more connected community, and we’re working hard to minimise disruption wherever we can. |

Getting around during constructionSigns will be in place to guide road users through the updated layout once vehicle access from Simeon Street and Collins Street onto SH76 Brougham Street closes. To help keep everyone safe, a temporary speed limit will be in place around the work site. Footpaths and cycleways around the construction area will remain open at all times, so you can continue walking, biking, or using mobility aids through the neighbourhood. The construction team will be on site to assist with directions or answer any questions you may have. |
