Indonesia's First Blocks
On December 1st, our partner, Block Solutions Indonesia successfully produced their first Blocks as part of the mould validation process at a testing facility in Jakarta, Indonesia.
These are the moulds that will be used in the brand-new factory which is currently being built in Lombok, Indonesia. While the Lombok factory is being constructed, testing will continue at the Jakarta facility to produce blocks in order to increase building contractor capacity and build more concept schools using Lombok's recycled plastic waste.
We are very proud of this historical and extraordinary milestone for Block Solutions Indonesia and the future of sustainable construction.

DONOR VISIT TO LOMBOK
In November, donors Alisoun, Heather, and Bonnie joined members of the COH team in Lombok from Scotland to visit the Block School they had fundraised for, Sigar Penjalin. The students of Sigar Penjalin welcomed us with smiles and laughter and enjoyed showing us their new Block School.
Alisoun Mackenzie has been a long-term supporter of Classroom of Hope. In 2019, Alisoun started Alisoun and Friends, a fundraising team that worked together to support a new school building in Battambang, Cambodia. In 2021, Alisoun and Friends did it again; a group of 9 women fundraised to build this three classroom Block School serving 276 students in Lombok. The team sold handmade candles, held auctions, donated birthdays, and so much more to hit their fundraising goal. A big thank you to Alisoun and Friends for your dedication and support!
