Thousands of visitors enjoyed a free weekend of live music and performances over the May bank holiday weekend as Burnley Live returned to the town for the second year running. Featuring local musicians and performers over four days, the event saw a significant increase in footfall to the town centre compared to the same weekend in 2023. Delivered by Discover Burnley in collaboration with a variety of local venues including Bar Mojitos and Remedy Gin Bar and in partnership with the Burnley Express, the event was a huge success and we can't wait to deliver our next town centre-wide event. Enter our prize draw and complete the Burnley BID Consultations Survey The Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) has been operating since April 2020 and runs until 31st March 2025. During this time, great progress has been made in developing Burnley town centre into an attractive, clean and vibrant destination, where consumers and visitors like to live, work, shop and spend their leisure time. The current BID's 5-year term runs until 31st March 2025, and the private sector led BID board are looking at how we can further develop Burnley and are planning a second project, which if approved by you, will start on 1st April 2025 and run for a further 5 years until 31st March 2030. We are also exploring the opportunity to extend the BID area. We have been and will be visiting businesses to ensure that everyone based within the BID footprint has received the consultation as well as consulting with the businesses that could potentially be in the extended BID area. The successor BID would be voted on by companies in November 2024, and BID members will have the opportunity to vote on whether you would like to accept or reject the proposal for the period 1st April 2025 – 31st March 2030. If BID members accepted, the successor BID will enable a further five years of investment to be implemented into the town centre of Burnley. Please complete the consultation in the link below which seeks to gain feedback and identify any type of issues your business faces and how a successor BID, BID 2 may support your company to grow and prosper. The results from this consultation will shape the size, direction and scale of future plans for Burnley town centre; therefore, it is vital that you respond if your company's views are to be heard. You can respond to the consultation by completing the survey on the button link below. This will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, responses will be treated as confidential and will not be attributed to any respondents without permission.
