PFC News Wrap-Up

  1. PFC urged the government to ensure that going forward the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) be given access to all required resources to carry out a fullsome and conclusive review into Anti-Muslim bias at CRA.
  2. PFC stated how the federal budget represented a missed opportunity to strengthen philanthropy in times of uncertainty.
  3. Jean-Marc Mangin gave the budget 4/10 alongside 13 other social impact leaders who weighed in on budget 2023

on Climate Change

SOGI Funders' Affinity Group meeting 

SOGI Funders’ Affinity Group is a pan-Canadian network of philanthropic and government funders initiated in 2022. The SOGI (Sexual Orientation Gender Identity) group supports efforts to strengthen collaboration, provides a forum for knowledge exchange, and helps members maximize their impact in supporting the 2SLGBTQi+ community. The steering group includes PFC member The Sonor Foundation, together with WES Maria Assef Fund, KM Hunter Charitable Foundation and The Stollery Charitable Foundation.

Their next gathering is on May 31st 2023 in Toronto at 4pm.
