Drum roll... Exciting news... Our first ever Corpus Giving Day is due to take place on 18 & 19 March, bringing together the whole community in support of the people, places and programmes that make Corpus special. For 36 hours, alumni, students, Fellows and friends will join a collective effort to strengthen College life - from student support and teaching to facilities and outreach. Challenges, matched gifts and real‑time updates will help maximise the impact of every donation. It's all about teamwork and putting the fun into fundraising. CORPUS CONNECTS - HELPING OUR STUDENTS GET CAREER-READY
Navigating today’s job market is more challenging than ever, and the Corpus community has a vital role to play in supporting our current students and recent graduates as they prepare for their professional lives. To help our students, we are hosting Corpus Connects on Tuesday 3 March at the Girdlers' Hall in the City of London. We are bringing alumni and students together for an evening of career conversations, mentoring, and networking. NANNA LILLETVEDT SÆTEN TO JOIN GONVILLE & CAIUS FELLOWSHIP
Congratulations to Nanna Lilletvedt Sæten (m.2021) who has won a Research Fellowship competition at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. Nanna is a political theorist writing on issues of technology, power, time, utopia, rationality and violence. The four-year Fellowship commences in October 2026. Read more
ALUMNUS ON OVERLOOKED CRISIS FACING POLAR ICE SHEETS
Glaciologist and climate scientist at the British Antarctic Survey, Dr James Kirkham (m.2018) writes about the alarming impact climate change is having on polar ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica, arguing that politicians are ignoring some of the clearest and most alarming evidence. Read more

$5 MILLION TO SUPPORT GIFTED YOUNG MATHEMATICIANS
Ilana Walder-Biesanz (m.2013) has been named one of five recipients of a $5 million award from the Bezos Foundation for her work to ensure brilliant young mathematicians reach their potential.

Maisie Johnson (m.2021) reflects on discovering her passion for theatre at Corpus, directing Twelfth Night and The Duchess of Malfi in the College Chapel, and her involvement in the Cambridge American Stage Tour (CAST). Read more
PROFESSOR SAM BEHJATI TAKES ON KEY PAEDIATRIC ROLES
Sam Behjati has been appointed as Professor of Paediatrics and Head of the Department of Paediatrics at the University’s School of Clinical Medicine. Sam will also be Director of the Cambridge Children’s Research Institute, the multi-departmental institute in the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Sam's clinical research has focused on the origin of cancers, in particular of childhood cancer.
PROFESSOR DAVID ABRAHAMS NAMED HONORARY FELLOW OF THE ACADEMY FOR THE MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
David Abrahams was named as an Honorary Fellow in recognition of his work towards the creation of the Academy, which has released its inaugural cohort of 100 Fellows. The Academy brings together mathematicians across academia, education, business, industry, and government to help tackle some of the UK’s biggest challenges. Read more
PROFESSOR PASCO FEARON IN THE NEWS
Pasco, the Director of of the Centre for Family Research at Cambridge, has had a busy month. His Children of the 2020s study published headline-grabbing findings of the impact of screen time on toddlers. He has also appeared on the Naked Scientist podcast, talking about his Generation New
Era, a major study following the development of children born in the UK in 2026. And he also launched the RESET Mental Health Podcast.
DR TIMOTHY GLOVER MAKES ONCE-IN -A-LIFETIME DISCOVERY
During his time as Parker Library Early-Career Research Fellow, Timothy Glover made a unique discovery that brings us closer to one of England's most popular and enigmatic medieval writers, Richard Rolle. In a paper published in Mediaeval Studies, Tim demonstrates that manuscript MS 25 in the Taylor Library at the Shrewsbury School in Shropshire contains the only complete surviving copy of Rolle’s original draft of Emendatio vitae (The
Emending of Life). Read more
PROFESSOR REVD ANDREW DAVISON & PROFESSOR JULIAN ALLWOOD RELEASE NEW BOOK
Andrew Davison (m.2000), former Dean of Chapel and Fellow, now Regius Professor of Divinity at University of Oxford, and Julian Allwood (m.1984) Professor of Engineering and Fellow of St Catharine's College Cambridge, have published a new book, A Safe Climate in Good Faith: Promise the Earth. The theologian and engineer have come together to offer a fresh perspective and prescription for combatting climate change. Read more
NEW RELEASES FROM CORPUS FELLOWS

Our new JCR and MCR Presidents, Melita Rodrigues and Pablo Araguas Rodriguez have hit the ground running, working with their newly formed committees to improve College life for all. Pablo, a PhD student in Synthetic Biology, and Melita, a third year English student, have also been lending their support to the Giving Day planning, rallying their
communities to take part. We look forward to working with them throughout the year.
QUEERLY CORPUS - CELEBRATING LGBTQ+ HISTORY MONTH
Throughout February Corpus will host a series of exciting events for LGBTQ+ History Month, including a conversation and film screening featuring Corpus Fellow and LGBTQ+ Champion, Professor JD Rhodes and historian Peter Martland on ‘Corpus Christi College and Queer Film History’. Read more
Fellow Dr Audrey Wozniak has also arranged an event for LGBTQ+ History Month, bringing queer folk ensemble Goblin Band to play in the Dining Hall on 26 February. Audrey is an ethno-musicologist and violin player, and we are looking forward to more upcoming musical events she is bringing to the College. Read more
IMPROVING THE COLLEGE ESTATE
The College has begun a major programme to improve and future‑proof the estate, from refurbishing New Court staircases to fully renovating the Old Court ‘Crystal Palace’. These works will enhance sustainability, accessibility and comfort across Corpus. We'll offer more updates as projects progress. Read more

TRACING THE EARLIEST STAGES OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Corpus PhD student Manas Dave has discussed his vital work in an interview published by the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Manas is building a groundbreaking resource to map early human development, combining microscopy, coding and genomics. His work will help researchers better understand how our earliest cells form, organise and grow, offering new insights into human biology. Read more
FRANCESCA (CHECK) WARNER (m.2009), is an advocate of ethical investing and the co-founding partner at inclusive venture capital firm, Ada Ventures. Through her work Check is helping remove obstacles to entrepreneurial growth and making investment more inclusive. She received an MBE for services to Diversity and Inclusion in Venture Capital in 2022.

Honorary Fellow DAVID OMAND (m.1969), came to Corpus as a foundation scholar to study economics. He went on to have a long career in British government, holding senior posts in security, intelligence and defence, including Director of GCHQ. He was appointed a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (GCB) in the 2004 Birthday Honours. He has also written extensively on security and intelligence matters. Read more
