APhA Presents: Escape the Pharmacy! APhA will be hosting an escape the pharmacy event where the first place winners will receive a pharmacy based prizes like socks, tumblers, etc! The event will take place on November 10th at 1pm located in STC145. Teams MUST be in a group of 3 people and MUST be registered using this google form. Attention to all P1 Students- Rho Chi Society presents to you the P1 Survival Event! Interested in learning more about the pharmacy curriculum and how to succeed and prepare for the coming years? Native American & Alaska Native Heritage Month November is Native American & Alaska Native Heritage Month! You can find more information about the month HERE. This year’s theme is “Sovereignty is Sacred: Sharing our Rights and Cultures”.  Please click here to access a list of resources with information about Native American & Alaska Native heritage in the United States and about the Lenape, the tribe that inhabited this region before European colonization (you’ll learn about the connection between the Lenape and names you'll know, like Kingsessing). Do you need an Enrollment Verification Letter and a Transcript for  Residency applications? If you are applying for Residency or APPE locations and need to obtain Enrollment Verification or a copy of your transcript, you can request this from the Registrar's Office by submitting a ticket. If you need to download your unofficial transcript, you can do this on the NEST in your Student Profile by right-clicking on the transcript and selecting print. Then, in the drop-down arrow of the destination, you can save it as a PDF. Posted by Mr. Dominguez. 11/3

Alumni Networking Night 2022 - November 16th 6-8pm in the MPR! Come network with alumni in the pharmaceutical industry. Invited alumni range from Specialists to Vice Presidents to CEO's in the top pharmaceutical companies. Many of the alumni coming hire interns/fellows/APPE Students. Special Project Elective in Pharmacy Museum! The SJU department of history is continuing its collaboration with PCP to complete the renovation of the Marvin Samson History of Pharmacy museum, located on the first floor of Griffith Hall. One or two pharmacy students are invited to join an interdisciplinary team to work on the project. This is a 3 credit independent research studies course. Students will be researching, cataloging and helping to create a display in the museum. Likely a fair amount of reading and writing will be involved. A preference is for pharmacy students who are humanities minors or who have an interest in the history of pharmacy and PCP. To apply, fill out this form. This is for spring 2023, is three credits, and will count as a professional elective. The application is open until Thursday 11/10. Immunotherapies Spring 2023 Elective! Have you wondered why CAR-T cell immunotherapy medications are called “living drugs” or why they are so expensive (one dose typically costs more than $500,000)? Curious about JAK inhibitors, programmed death inhibitors, or oncolytic viruses? We’ll explore these and other state-of-the-art immunotherapies in the PP321 Immunotherapies elective. This unique application-based 1-credit course, open to all Doctor of Pharmacy students, is scheduled for 10am-11:30am Fridays for the first ten weeks of the semester. No exams! Clinical Reasoning Spring 2023 Elective! Want to practice and refine your SOAPing and Clinical Reasoning skills? The 2-credit PP309 Clinical Reasoning course, open to all Doctor of Pharmacy students, is scheduled for 3-5pm Tuesdays. Each week features a unique patient case from a variety of patient care settings. The course grade is based on two open book patient cases and class participation. Trick or Treat Yourself to Some Candy and Registration Information!  Spring 2023 Registration is just around the corner! Remember, all students must register themselves every semester. In addition, we have transitioned to the SJU numbering system, so please make sure you familiarize yourself with the new course prefixes and numbers. You can find this updated information on your major curriculum checklist. Additionally, you can find General Education updates here. Check your Student Profile in the Nest for registration notices and holds. Your notifications and Registration Time will be listed in the drop-down menus in the upper right of your Studnet Profile.
