Free Film Screening: Rising Up

Join us for a free film screening and Q&A with young filmmaker, Kal Glanznig. The film sees Kal travel to the frontlines of the climate and plastic crisis, travelling to Tuvalu, Samoa, Bali and across Australia to uncover stories of hope and solutions to the climate and ocean plastic crisis.

Just launched! New rebates to transition away from using gas

Council is now providing rebates to help you upgrade from gas appliances to:

  • induction cooktops
  • hot water heat pumps
  • reverse-cycle air-conditioners.

Rebates of up to $500 are available to help residents to use clean, renewable energy.

Planting Resilience

Do you live in an apartment and would like to start a community garden with your neighbours?  

Council is looking for an apartment complex to participate in a community garden trial program, where a facilitator will host two workshops on developing and maintaining an edible garden, along with all resources being supplied.

Youth Panel: The Pacific on the Frontline of Climate Change

In a very special event, Lane Cove welcomes six young people visiting from the small Pacific Island nations of Kiribati and Tuvalu to share stories of their traditional homelands and ways of life. Hear how climate change is impacting their communities, stories of resilience, and how we can best respond to the climate crisis together.
