Reminder: Student Travel

Students who are interested in attending a professional meeting are reminded to review the policy (found on the PCP Google site). All requests must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the trip. Late requests will be denied and/or reduced. 2/8

 

Living Beyond Breast Cancer Volunteers Needed

Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a Philadelphia-based breast cancer support and education nonprofit, is looking for volunteers for its annual Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer. The conference features the latest information on research and treatment options, as well as sessions that discuss the emotional effects of a diagnosis. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including greeting and gift giveaways from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 19. The conference will take place at the Hilton Penn’s Landing (201 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19106). Food/snacks will be provided, parking will be reimbursed, and volunteer hours documentation can be provided. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill this form out by February 26th. Volunteer spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis so you may be placed on a waitlist. 2/8

Valentine's Day Cards for CHOP!

Come make Valentine's Day cards for patients at CHOP with Operation Heart! We will be in STC Atrium from 1-2PM on February 14th! Stop by to learn more about cardiovascular disease and grab some Valentine's candy as well! 2/8

 

SCCP SPRING GBM

SCCP is having our spring GBM Thursday February 15th from 1-2pm at STC 0237. If you're interested in any aspect of clinical pharmacy, stop by to learn about all our events we have planned including things such as: bite size learning, spelling bee, speaker panel, etc. Snacks will be provided! 2/8

 

All PCP students who need to write - the Writing Center is here for you!

Lab reports - Citations - Outlines - Reflective Writing - and more! The Writing Center is open for in-person appointments in England 212, Monday - Thursday from 5-8 PM, and online appointments are available during the day. We can help with brainstorming, outlining, citations, and reviewing any type of written assignment. We also have tutors from all kinds of programs and majors (including PCP!). HSPAL Pharmacy Resident Speaker

Interested in learning about pharmacy residency opportunities in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL)? SSHP is hosting a virtual information session at 6:00 pm on 2/19 with Atra Mouser, a current HSPAL resident from Houston Methodist Hospital. This is a great way to explore pharmacy administration and to learn more about career paths available after completing a HSPAL residency. Please refer to the flyer for the Zoom meeting information.

Operation Script Your Future presents Fill A Pill Box!

Want to learn more about ways to improve medication adherence? Come join us on February 15th in the STC Atrium from 1-3 PM to learn about using pill boxes as a way to be more adherent to medications! You’ll be able to fill up your own pill box with candies and other sweet treats based on a patient’s medication list and take the box home with you. Volunteers needed for BP Screenings!

In celebration of American Heart Month, the Healthcare Ministry will be hosting weekly BP screenings throughout the month of February at New Mt Olive Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE. DPHA is looking for volunteers to conduct BP screenings on February 11th and 25th from 11:30 to 1:30 PM. SJU Fellowships Office Looking for Applicants!

The SJU Fellowships Office is looking for undergraduate and graduate students to apply for several scholarship and fellowship opportunities related to research, service, leadership, and experiences abroad. The office is looking to include more BIPOC, first-generation, and Pell Grant-eligible applicants, but ALL interested students are encouraged to apply or reach out to the Office for more information.  P2 Students - Be a Pre-req Ambassador!

Looking to add Leadership to your CV? We're looking for a few students who are willing to serve as Pre-req Ambassadors. Students reported the the Ambassadors were extremely helpful last year. Pre-req Ambassadors are P3 students who have a good understanding of how to get pre-reqs done. They help their peers by providing insight on how to complete pre-reqs, creating a strategy to complete pre-reqs on time, and serving as a source of information and motivation.
