Projects, podcasts, and puns No images? Click here
Hi pals! Hope you’re all well. It’s been another busy month at Braw HQ! We kicked things off by wrapping up What Nobody Tells You, our creative development programme. Over six weeks, 11 young people learned about different aspects of filmmaking from industry professionals while building their own creative networks. The best bit? We filmed the whole thing and will be sharing it with you very soon as a series of bite-sized podcasts. Don’t say we’re not good to you! Massive thanks to Allia C&C who funded this programme. We also recorded voiceovers for a brilliant project with Children’s Hearings Scotland. The young people involved were incredible, and we can’t wait to share the finished animation with you as soon as we’re able. Elsewhere, we've been developing scripts with Barnardo’s Scotland, exploring the housing challenges young people face, and with Carers Trust, creating an animation to help teachers better support young carers as they move through key stages of their education. The groups taking part in both projects have been incredibly generous in sharing their experiences. Those conversations always shape the work and help us create films that genuinely reflect the people they're made with. A huge thank you to everyone involved. LaunchesWe worked with the Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland to create an animation exploring the challenges young people experience in the education system. The film joins two others as part of their Storylines project. You can watch our animation, If You Can't Stand the Heat, on the CYCPS website, alongside the other films. The young people wanted their story to have a cooking theme - see if you can spot how many food and cooking puns we managed to squeeze into the script!
What's Braw Right Now? We may have lost the braw weather, but Team Scotland are giving us plenty to cheer about at the Commonwealth Games, with 23 medals already won in Glasgow. Come on, Scotland! We also featured on Living Wage Scotland's Instagram this month. Paying people a real Living Wage? Pretty braw, if you ask us. Click below if you want to work with us or just want to tell us what's been braw in your life! Have a good day! Team Braw |
