Our journey began with Amy Anderson, whose trajectory from Health Care Assistant to Trainee Nursing Associate highlights the possibilities within our Trust. We also spoke to Craig Thackray, a Registered Nursing Associate who initially didn't consider nursing as his career path, but has not looked back! Lastly, we had the privilege of discussing Debbie Wright's role as Clinical Lead with an astonishing 42 years of service to our Trust, Debbie shared her inspiring journey to nursing excellence. Thank you to our departed Governors: We’d like to recognise and celebrate a significant milestone in our MHST digital offering. Last Friday Hull and East Riding MHSTs launched social media for the first time with an Instagram and Facebook account. Social media has become an essential part of everyday life and comes out on top for being one of the best ways to engage those we work with. Social media allows us to engage with a larger audience more efficiently and gives us the opportunity to engage people who aren’t otherwise aware of our service. Our MHST social media platforms aim to create a trusted space for young people, parents/carers and professionals; which shares what we get up to, recommends great support services that can help, shares resources, ideas and tips to help with coping and feeling better and a place for us to come together as a community and continue on our mission to improve mental health and wellbeing for all children and young people. Show your support by following, liking, and sharing the great work of our Hull and East Riding MHST. Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has become the first Trust in the local region to implement Zero Suicide Alliance Training for its staff through their online training platform. The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) aims to empower, educate and equip individuals or organisations to support suicide awareness and prevention. Friends and Family Test The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use NHS services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience. It provides a mechanism to highlight patient experience and is vital in transforming NHS services, supporting patient choice and implementing changes based on your feedback. Each month we will be sharing patient experiences from our different services, alongside a patient comment. 98.2% of respondents had a positive experience of the Children's and Learning Disability service in January. "Always happy to see my child, very thorough, supportive and understanding." Volunteering We believe in the transformative power of volunteering. Volunteering not only creates positive impacts on communities but also enriches the lives of those who choose to give their time and skills. Why Volunteer? Volunteering is a powerful way to make a difference in the world around you. Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or are looking for a meaningful way to contribute to society, there's a volunteering opportunity waiting for you. By volunteering, you can:
