Last month, much like September, our work primarily took place at night. Despite a few lost shifts due to bad weather, we've made significant progress in October. Most of the utility ducts for the traffic signals have been installed around the motorway ramps.

This marks the end of our night-time operations for now. Our team will transition to daytime work from Monday 4 November, focusing on widening the pavement on the northern side of Mill Road near the interchange (opposite the BP station). This daytime work will continue throughout this month, after which the crew will switch back onto night shifts.

Even before the traffic lights at the Bombay service centre exit and the interchange ramps are completed, local businesses have already noticed improved traffic flows near the service centre exit.

The photo above shows aggregate being backfilled using an excavator in a utility duct trench across Mill Road.  The photographs below provide a visual record of some of our key activities over the past month.

At left, electrical warning tape is placed on top of the electrical duct before the trench is filled with aggregate and compacted. At right, aggregate is being compacted in layers after ducts are laid.

November promises to be another active month as our team concentrates on widening the northern side of Mill Road on its western approach to Bombay Interchange. To ensure the safety of both our workers and motorists, shoulder closures will be implemented during these daytime operations.

Later this year, we will continue the installation of new utility ducts and cables around the interchange. This work will also involve the erection of poles and traffic lights. It's important to note that these traffic lights will not be activated until the completion of all ducts, cables, and light installation activities.
