“My Name Is Cleo”—COVID-19 and Children

PASTOR'S BLOG

All of Australia is breathing a sigh of grateful relief, now that police investigators hours ago rescued a missing four-year-old girl named Cleo. Eighteen nights ago she and her family were sleeping in a tent by a remote but popular tourist site along the west coast, Quobba Blowholes. Sometime after 1:30 AM when Cleo awakened to ask for a drink of water before falling back to sleep, police concluded she was abducted, sleeping bag and all pulled through a zippered tent flap (unzipped higher than a child would have raised it). For eighteen days the frantic family has pleaded for her return, the anxious country tracking the “massive police search” on national news.

Wednesday Morning Prayer Meeting

I would like to invite you to our Wednesday morning prayer meeting which meets at 7:00 AM on Zoom. This is a fantastic group that meets to share and pray together once a week. We are about to head into the holiday season, we are going to begin a series that you are not going to want to miss. Over the last year, we have explored biblical characters who shared their faith. As we begin our next chapter, I would like to invite you to join us as we explore 5 steps to intentionally sharing our faith. This series will run from November 10 – December 8. To join please sign up below.

Adult Sabbath School Resumes

Starting this Sabbath, November 6, 10:30 AM
Pioneer Sanctuary

Four vital elements of the early church's growth are still very much in season: teaching, fellowship, prayer and sharing meals (see Acts 2:42). They were Love on the Move "in the beginning"—and they still capture our mission of Love on the Move today. The good news is after a long pandemic hiatus, these four vital activities resume for the adult Sabbath School program and classes at Pioneer.

Offering for November 6, 2021

Pioneer Operating Budget

And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis ch. 6) Because of the wickedness of man, God chose to destroy the earth with the flood. But He used Noah to appeal to the people and provide a means of safety and protection through the flood. The finances for such an undertaking were enormous, but the command of God was clear.
