Offered in response to the church's pastoral supply challenges, the course will involve two years of intensive study and fieldwork scheduled over 48 weeks each year and be followed by an in-service transition period. This year’s appeal is twofold: a call to support the college financially as it trains and prepares people for service in Christ’s mission and a heartfelt plea for more students. Feedback from church members has been critical in helping to refine the LCANZ’s Way Forward framework to go to General Pastors Conference and General Synod for deliberation and vote later this year. While we frequently hear about wars in Ukraine and Gaza, there are terrible conflicts the world seems to have forgotten, including in Myanmar. However, our Lutheran Church is serving on the frontline there through Australian Lutheran World Service, and a new 5:1 matching grant is set to multiply the impact of that work. General Synod delegate updates and nominations reminder With the LCANZ Convention of General Synod now less than four months away, it’s time to check that your congregation and delegate/s are up to date with preparations for this important churchwide event. This includes notifying the LCANZ of your delegate/s 'details, even if they are continuing in the role. It is also time to submit nominations for positions on the church’s boards, councils, commissions and committees, which must be done by 30 June, including for those wishing to continue in the same role. Transport, accommodation and dining Information about accommodation, transport, dining, and things to do in Adelaide has been prepared for delegates and is available on the LCA website Synod webpages.
