Welcome Back Students!

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday break. It is time to get back on the PCP grind! As you ease into your spring schedule remember that Tuesday, January 21st, is the last day to make any changes to your schedule. Tickets on Sale for PCP Gala 2025!

PCP Gala is happening on Saturday, February 22nd from 6-10 PM in the Cardinal Foley Center on HH. Includes food, DJ/dancing, mocktails, photo-booth and 3 drink tickets for beer/wine/seltzer (21 years of age and older). Transportation provided to/from from U City. Cost is just $15 for PCP students/faculty/staff and $60 for non-PCP guests. Gala is made possible through a generous donation from Walgreens. Purchase tickets ASAP but no later than January 31st. May Graduates - Apply to Graduate by March 1st!

If you are projected to graduate in May 2025, please submit an Application to Graduate before March 1st. You will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony without an application. Posted by Mr. Dominguez. 1/13

P1-P4 Pharmacy Students! Special Scholarships Available.

Several scholarships are available by application. Go to the "2025 PCP Scholarship" tab of the PCP Student Google Site. Each scholarship requires a short essay. The deadline to apply for any scholarship is January 31st. Students may apply for more than one scholarship but because scholarships are limited, the likelihood of one student receiving multiple scholarships is low. Posted by Dean Foote. 1/13

 

Pharmaceutical Industry Elective

Curious about other options for a career path within pharmacy other than community and clinical practice? Potentially interested in pursuing an industry fellowship after graduation? Looking to expand your professional network? If any of this sounds interesting to you, consider enrolling in the PHP359 Introduction to Pharmaceutical Industry elective that will meet on Tuesdays from 3-4:50 PM. The course offers exposure to the various functional areas within the pharmaceutical industry as well as networking opportunities with people in each one of those areas. Lambda Kappa Sigma at PCP!

Lambda Kappa Sigma is a professional pharmacy fraternity dedicated to elevating women in pharmacy *new* to PCP! The chapter has just been reactivated here at PCP in Fall 2024 but was originally founded here in 1920. Not only do we offer great professional opportunities but also foster a connection between other women in PCP for sisterhood and memories that will last a lifetime! Pocket Guide Sale for IPPE/APPE

SCCP is selling pocket guides that are useful for student pharmacists while they are on IPPE and APPE rotations. The pocket guide includes helpful equations, laboratory value references, hypertension/diabetes/chronic kidney disease treatment guidelines, statin dosing, routine immunization information, therapeutic drug monitoring levels, and much more. Scholarship Opportunity - HSF Scholar Program

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Program is accepting applications for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This program provides a number of support opportunities such as career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training. Additionally, scholarships of $500 - $5000 are given annually based on merit and need. Applications are due on Saturday 2/15/25. Graduate and Professional Students: you're invited to the first annual Graduate Student Basketball Social on January 15!

Please join SJU faculty/staff and fellow grad students at our first annual Graduate Student Basketball Social at the SJU Women's Basketball game on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 6:15pm (social) and 7pm (game) in Hagan Arena. Here are a few of the special things just for our grad students:
• Free tickets (for SJU Students) in a special block of seats; $5 discount tickets for any non-SJU student guests
• Pregame social with light snacks at 6:15pm in the Hall of Fame Room at Hagan Arena
• Announcement for Grad students on the Jumbotron
• Half-time games and prizes for grad student participants
