Local business spotlight: Golden Cockerel secures circular economy funding![]() Pictured: Staff at Golden Cockerel who will run the innovative equipment once installed. Golden Cockerel, a local business contributing significantly to Queensland’s chicken supply, has successfully secured funding from the State Government’s Circular Economy Investment Program. The funding will be used to install advanced food processing machinery designed to enhance recovery rates during poultry processing operations. The new machinery will enable Golden Cockerel to generate high-value protein ingredients while significantly reducing unnecessary waste products. This innovative approach not only aligns with the principles of the circular economy but also sets a new standard for sustainability in the poultry industry. Golden Cockerel's success in securing this funding is a testament to their dedication to environmental stewardship and their vision for a more sustainable future. The company's efforts will not only benefit the local community but also contribute to broader environmental goals by minimising waste and maximizing resource efficiency. |
