Dudu-du-du... It's finally starting to feel like summer! Changing weather means new opportunities to adjust your energy habits. Here are some helpful tips to keep your electricity costs in check this season.

• Air-dry your laundry. Instead of using the dryer on warm days, hang up your clothes and let the sun do the work. Only washing full loads and using cold water will also help to reduce your laundry’s electricity costs.
• Keep curtains and blinds closed. The sunshine can make it tempting to open all the windows, but keeping them closed and covered on warm days can significantly lower the temperature in your home.
• Avoid using the oven on hot days. Cooking inside (unless you're cooking on induction) can heat up your home and cause your cooling system to work harder. Try grilling outside or use smaller appliances that release less heat and require less energy than a stove or oven.

The Community Benefits Grant partnership provides funding to organizations in Sonoma and Mendocino counties helping to advance clean energy, green jobs, environmental education and stewardship, and equity and diversity efforts.

Easy rewards for saving energy

Over 7,000 Sonoma Clean Power customers have signed up for our GridSavvy Rewards, which help reduce strain on the state’s electric grid and encourage mindful energy habits at home.

You'll receive a $25 bonus for signing up while funding lasts. Plus, earn extra rewards for taking action when you receive SCP energy saving alerts this summer.

There are no penalties for not reducing energy usage, only rewards when you do.

Snoopy's Home Ice Zamboni goes all-electric

The Zamboni has long been an iconic part of the Redwood Empire Ice Arena experience, smoothing the ice between skating sessions and hockey games.

Snoopy's Home Ice recently welcomed a new electric Zamboni! Since its first day, the new machine has eliminated the air pollution concerns of the previous propane model.

Energy Center wins first place at CalCCA Community Impact Awards

These awards highlight the innovative initiatives of Community Choice Aggregators around the state that are driving decarbonization, promoting equity, and enhancing energy reliability.

At our Center, members of the community can take classes, find rebates on energy-efficient home appliances, and be inspired to take climate action.

SCP recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Business

The League of American Bicyclists recognized SCP as a Bicycle Friendly Business at the Gold level!

This designation is given to organizations that go above and beyond to support employees and customers in making biking a regular part of their lifestyle.
