The Great South Update

August 2022

I am excited to share that we have appointed Chami Abysinghe as our new Chief Executive for Great South. Chami is well connected in Southland and internationally from her time as International Director at the Southern Institute of Technology.

The Great South Board and I are very much looking forward to working with Chami and the region will certainly benefit from the experience, knowledge, and leadership qualities she brings to the role. Chami is looking forward to meeting with our shareholders, stakeholders and the wider community in the coming months as she begins in the role mid-September.

Another exciting recent development was the opening of Invercargill Central stage one, which is an absolute game changer for our region. This development, along with the many other works underway, will support business success, motivate people from afar to travel south, and enhance the lives of those that proudly call Southland home.

We can now start enjoying the fruits of many years of labour by so many in our community.

Ngā mihi,

Ian Collier
Chairman
