Business Excellence Awards 2019

Kia ora ,

We have just completed the latest Business Confidence Survey with the help of our partner Red Hot Business Coaching & Consultancy.

The overall picture from this survey is that cost pressures, including rising inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and cost of goods and services to run a business are very high in the thoughts of our business community. These factors dominate how businesses are feeling and will continue to impact their confidence.

There are ongoing challenges in most areas, but a slight reduction in some key indicators around labour, supply chain challenges, and COVID-19 impacts.

You can read the full report following the link in the article below.

And in other news…..

I am excited that next week we will be announcing the finalists for the 2degrees Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards. Furthermore, we'll be looking forward to the Gala Dinner at the Lower Hutt Events Centre on Friday, November 18th.

You can still book tickets or tables for the Gala Dinner here.

Business Confidence Survey Report: October 2022

Red Hot Business Coaching & Consultancy

The overall picture from the October 2022 survey is that cost pressures, including rising inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and cost of goods and services to run a business, are very high in the thoughts of our business community.

These dominate how businesses are feeling and will continue to impact their confidence. This is partly offset by about a quarter of businesses feeling like their income and profitability will increase in the next 6 months.

Business Confidence Survey - October

There are ongoing challenges in most areas, but a slight improvement in some key indicators around labour, supply chain challenges, and COVID-19 impacts.

LOCAL & REGIONAL NEWS

RiverLink – Request for Proposals

RiverLink RFP's

Last week the RiverLink project issued their ‘Request for Proposals’ seeking proposals from organisations or groups of organisations wanting to be involved in the project build. This is an important milestone for the project

The RiverLink project incorporates transport improvements, including a new Melling Interchange and River Bridge, as well as improved walking, cycling and public transport links. The RiverLink project will result in significant benefits for Lower Hutt, including present and future generations of people living there. Flood protection works will significantly improve the level of protection and resilience provided to Hutt City from flood events that could cause major damage to homes and businesses. The change the project facilitates will aid development along the river, with the city facing Te Awa Kairangi, and making the central city a more vibrant place to be.

RiverLink is a partnership of five, with NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi), Greater Wellington Regional Council (GW), Hutt City Council (HCC) and iwi mana whenua Taranaki Whānui ki te Upoko o te Ika (Taranaki Whānui) and Ngāti Toa Rangatira (Ngāti Toa), all working together to transform central Lower Hutt.

RiverLink will be contracted using an Alliance contract model.

If you are interested to see the documents please let us know at patrick@hvchamber.org.nz and we will send you a copy.

Helping Employers Support Employees With Overwhelm

Sharlene Crosswell

With great business comes great responsibility, especially when it comes to your employees.

But great business does not come without its challenges. For example:

  • Have you had employees not turn up to work for unknown reasons?
  • Have you had that employee that has fallen behind in their productivity because they are stressed or are facing issues at work or at home?

All individuals can seem complex, especially when we have not experienced certain situations and perhaps lack understanding of someone else's distress. This is where Revive Employee Support Services can help

Feel free to call me for a casual chat, it would be great to meet you!
