ASDA Foundation Investing in Spaces and Places grant

The ASDA Foundation is offering grants between £5,000 and £25,000 to cover costs such as building repairs, development, and outdoor upgrades for community organisations. 

The aim is to use these funds to improve community spaces owned or leased by grassroots organisations, so that communities can benefit from them.

Deadline: Sunday 19 March

Crowdfund Barnet

Do you have an idea for a community project?  Whether it be by enhancing high streets, neighbourhoods, or parks; or supporting vulnerable people and bringing communities together, Crowdfund Barnet offers a creative and collaborative way to turn your idea for a local project into a reality. 

Through Crowdfund Barnet, everyone can create their own crowdfunding campaigns.

Pledges of up to £5,000 available from Barnet Council.

Magic Little Grants 2023

Grants of £500 are available for small charities and community groups to support grass-roots projects and campaigns. 

Last year, grants were given to 2,650 charitable organisations.

Funding can be used to launch projects, or strengthen existing services

Deadline: Tuesday 31 October 2023

Grants to support refugees in England

The Church Urban Fund is supporting support local churches in helping refugees who have arrived in England.

Their Refugee Support Small Grants Programme is for Christian projects that help refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan. 

Grants between £500 and £5,000 are available for projects that provide personal items, language support, home items, and improve integration and settling.

Deadline: Friday 31 March

Tweed Family Charitable Foundation

This foundation supports causes that inspire socially disadvantaged young people, with the aim of helping them reach their potential. 

They fund projects that will help develop young people's social, practical and life skills through mentoring, education and community activities.

Their 2023 Funding Programme is now open, offering grants up to £10,000 per year for three years. 

Deadline: Friday 14 April

Donations from John Lewis Brent Cross

Have you heard of the John Lewis Community Matters scheme? 

Each branch has a budget of £3000 per quarter to donate to local charities. 

They can donate cash, products or help with volunteers, depending on what your organisation needs.

With a huge branch in Brent Cross, it's worth nominating your charity to see what support you might be able to get.

Funding tender for local not-for-profits

The North Central London Training Hub is inviting charities and non-proift organisations to tender for funding to support North Central London residents. 

The aim will be to support residents in pre-employment training, with the end goal of gaining entry level roles in primary care and other health and social care settings.

Barnet Together 2023 Fundraising Programme

Our 2023 Fundraising Programme is underway. Join us for sessions on Raising your profile, Budgeting for Funding Applications and Barnet Insights.

These fortnightly online sessions on Wednesday mornings will bring you expert advice on how to make the most of fundraising opportunities.  You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like, but we recommend signing up for all of them to get an overview of all the vital aspects of fundraising. If you miss a session, don't worry, we're recording them.

New Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion Policy in Barnet

Barnet Council are asking for your feedback on their new Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion policy. 

They want to hear from local organisations and community groups about how the policy could be more inclusive and representative of people in Barnet.

Come along to a session we're hosting where you'll have a chance to hear more and add your thoughts.

Navigating the cost of living crisis Q&A for small organisations

Lime Green Consulting is holding two free online sessions covering specific challenges that small organisations are facing due to the cost-of-living crisis.

Topics include fundraising, grant funding, communications, service delivery and looking after your people.

Introducing London's Cost of Living Tracker

Trust for London is launching its new Cost of Living tracker and they're giving you a chance to learn all about it. 

The tracker will give insights into how the cost-of-living crisis is impacting London residents.

Media Spokesperson Training Programme

This eight month course is hosted by Sounddelivery Media, and aims to teach leaders to share their lived experience in order to drive change.

The programme centres around lived experience and how this expertise can support the community and diversify voices heard in the media.

The Big Iftar: celebrating Ramadan in Barnet

People of all faiths, and none, are invited to take part in Ramadan alongside Muslims, at this event organised by the Middlesex Inter Faith Network and Barnet Multi Faith Forum.

Come together over food for a celebration of togetherness and charitable giving.

Community Innovation Fund awards £240,000 to ten Barnet organisations

Ten community groups in Barnet have been awarded grants totaling £240,000 from the Community Innovation Fund. 

The projects being funded will aim to tackle the cost-of-living crisis and its health impacts on residents.

Some of the successful applicants were Colindale Communities Trust, The Barnet Lone Parent Centre and Kisharon.

Art Against Knives is inviting you to shop their newest art print collection!

This collection is made up of letters of the alphabet so you can treat a loved one (or yourself!) to a personalised print!

Barnet Together is calling for community, voluntary, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups as well as statutory organisations and businesses operating in the borough of Barnet, to sign up to the Barnet Voluntary Sector Manifesto.

The aim of the Manifesto is to create better understanding and deeper cross-sector collaboration between organisations working within Barnet. 

If you are a representative of a group, service provider or business based in or serving Barnet, then you can sign up to the Barnet Voluntary Manifesto.

Barnet Together is a free capacity building support service for the borough’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. It supports local VCFSEs with funding, training, resources and advice, and offers a platform for stronger sector representation, voice and connection. Barnet Together services are available to all members of Young Barnet Foundation, Volunteering Barnet and Inclusion Barnet, with each partner organisation bringing their own specialisms, knowledge and assets.
